First Love

When the words seem to fall by the wayside

And second chances are null and void

When goodbye seems to be the only thing left

The one word we can no longer avoid

That feeling of first love, you'll never forget

No matter how hard you might try

It will stay with you for as long as you live

For first loves will choose not to die

Memories carved into hearts of stone

Mixed with the good times and the bad

Love will come in many different forms

But nothing like the first love we had

It's the first time you said that I love you

The first time you had your first kiss

It's always compared to the love that follows

It's the first love that you'll always miss

There has to be something really special

To this thing I've been speaking of

Though people may try to deny it

You'll never forget your first love
