Broken Reflections

Broken Reflections

A Poem by Whiskurz

Held together with glue and hope
Love starts to fall apart
Tethered together at the end of a thread
Are pieces of a broken heart

A crack is formed, then slowly increases
As your world begins to shake
Like a stone that's cast upon still waters
Your reflection starts to break

Now the things you saw are not as clear
As they were, just yesterday
For the ripples tear you farther apart
As the waters drift away

The dreams you had grow blurry with time
Moving in different directions
Now memories you shared, are all you have left
Looking through broken reflections
