Morning Whispers

Morning Whispers

A Poem by Whiskurz

She softly whispers to her love
Who lay beside her in the bed
"I love to watch you sleep my prince"
As she gently kissed his head

"I love the way you always smile,
Before that little white lie"
"You knew you couldn't fool me
But it was fun to watch you try"

"I love to watch you try to dance
Though rhythm, you have none"
"I couldn't bear to break your heart
'Cause you were having so much fun"

"I love the Father that you became
The kids were your pride and joy"
"You were the happiest man in the world
With your little girl and boy"

She softly whispers to her love
As she slowly starts to weep
The coroner comes to take him away
For he died last night in his sleep

Wow, what a punch at the end. The emotion in this is conveyed really well. You captured a really gentle and human moment with raw intensity. Very nice writing.

"As she gently *kissed his head" simple tense fix.

Aw, this is sad and the diction def works in this poem.
