Where Echoes Live

Where Echoes Live

A Poem by Whiskurz

I've built a land where echoes live
Just remnants of my past
Where future things just fade away
And are destined not to last

Surrounded by my broken things
Things that I destroyed
Pieces that I've thrown away
Things I can't avoid

Miles of mountains built on hope
With slopes too high to climb
A place that's ever standing still
A land with no more time

A place where dreams are out of reach
A mist that's here then gone
A land where only loneliness grows
And there's no such thing as dawn

I've built a land where echoes live
That's ever changing shape
A land I've built with my own hands
A place I can't escape

This is the first poem I've read here that I've genuinely had nothing critical to say, and the second to be added to my favourites.
Very well written, love the topic, and flow is totally flawless. I will be back for more.

It seems that we all build such a place. Your poem holds and exserts what is felt by many in the mid and elder years. I enjoyed this poem. Well done.

Let me just say i adore this poem. The flow is velvety smooth, and feels just as good on the mind. You have written a great poem and I thank you for writing it so as I have the opportunity to read it.
