Pieces of HimA Poem by Laura HarrisonWhen I met you, the first thing I noticed was how your eyes are the exact same shade of blue as his And when you smiled at me, your mouth curled up at the edges, just like his used to. I noticed the fact that you both laugh at the parts of a film that I find boring And that you both pucker your lips like an infant when you’re fast asleep. When you tell me that you love me, you say it just like him And you have touched my heart in all the same ways that he did. I like to think that God made you as a replica of him so that I could re-start a love that was once so strong, Or maybe I am hallucinating- going crazy because of the stupid love that I once had for him But he left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, and I found him again in you. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
