Pieces of Him

When I met you, the first thing I noticed was how your eyes are the exact same shade of blue as his

And when you smiled at me, your mouth curled up at the edges, just like his used to.

I noticed the fact that you both laugh at the parts of a film that I find boring

And that you both pucker your lips like an infant when you’re fast asleep.

When you tell me that you love me, you say it just like him

And you have touched my heart in all the same ways that he did.

I like to think that God made you as a replica of him so that I could re-start a love that was once so strong,

Or maybe I am hallucinating- going crazy because of the stupid love that I once had for him

But he left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, and I found him again in you.

Can be paraphrased as "All men are the same"..:) good work. Can be read from a romantic perspective and interpreted as a woman's deep love for the man who has left her. But it is more interesting when read as a satire.

This is sad .We try to do anything we can when we lose someone we love to get through the day.Trying to project one person onto another so we won't miss them as much in the long run will probably hurt more.Very nice poem

I really like the ideas here, and the words as well. If you want it to flow better, take out some words and shorten up some of the lines. It really depends on if you want the piece to feel like a note or a poem.

You did a good job on this although I would be a bit more specific early on as to who 'he' is. More than likely 'he' is an old boyfriend. But for a couple of seconds while reading this, I wondered if the speaker was referring to her father. Also, It seems she has not lost her love for 'him' being she seems to have merely replaced his image. In essence, it feels as though the sentiments are not genuine. The last line--"I found him again in you" proves this.
