Inner child

Inner child

A Poem by Ghoul

I see her in the back of my mind, all the time,
Too far beyond the line

Her silhouette sparkling yet ghastly,
Her dress fluttering under the moonlit glow.

She never hears me, my pleas for forgiveness,
Life moves too fast but her feet are too slow

When did I cross the line? When did she fall down?
Crimson regret staining her perfect white gown.

All I can do is finally hold her, her face nuzzled into my shoulder,
My hand rubbing sorrowful circles upon her back.

She laughs at the horror, the wasteland your life has become,
Did she deserve this future?

Look at her spinning in circles, a child of innocent intentions,
A whirlwind turned into a raging storm of devastation.

Let her go, let her rest within her concrete tomb.
Stop her dancing, stop her spinning.
Push her back beyond the line.

Let your inner child fly high.
