Digital Dawn

Digital Dawn

A Poem by Lawerence Rowe
"

The dawning of a new era for a young boy.

"

My first computer,

Blazing fast and shiny new.

A bridge to a world I can only imagine

awaits me on the other side of the screen.

A first I find myself drifting

In a vast sea of data,

Not knowing where to take port,

in the storm of information.

I wash up on the beach of NASA.

And find there sustenance for my mind.

Space, so far away, is at my fingertips,

And I can touch it, learn it, know it.

I can feel my brain warming up as I learn,

Neurons firing faster and faster.

Swelling like a sea at high tide,

My mind expands, like the sun rising at dawn.

It is morning now; I have been up all night.

The dark has gone, the morning begun

My digital mind has risen,

Today is my digital dawn.
