Circumference

A little math poem

In figuring circumference

I wrote down πr squared.

But when I gave my answer,

The teacher only stared.

And then, oh yes, it hit me

As I got into my car

πr squared is area,

Circumferences: 2πr!

Author's Note

Circumference has four syllables, Cir/cum/fe/rence... I usually say it with three syllables but for the sake of the meter I used the proper pronunciation.
