Anorexia

Anorexia

A Poem by Alexa L. Draven

I will change your life, I swear,
Your pretty bones will soon be left bare.
I will make you beautiful,
All I need is your soul.
I will feed your crumbling self-esteem,
You will have the body of your dreams.
I will make you feel good,
I only ask that you refuse food.
I will alter everything you are,
You can't stop once you've gone this far.
I will erase the girl in the mirror,
It will be like you were never her.
I will shatter the ugly image you see,
You should know, you're nothing without me.
I will transform you into absolute perfection,
You will no longer be the victim of rejection.
I will make your appearance so much better,
All the haunting insults will disappear forever.
I will ease the aching thoughts in your mind,
Follow my path and leave everything behind.
I will help you love yourself,
I won't hurt you like everyone else.
I will turn you into whatever you want to be,
But you have to decide, is it life or me?
