No Regrets

No Regrets

A Poem by Alexa L. Draven

I have had my share of mistakes,
But my judgement isn't yours to make.
I have lived my life the best I can,
There are some things you'll never understand.
You say in the future, I'll wish the past away,
But without it all, who would I be today?
Condemn me for who I am inside,
Just don't expect me to hide.
I don't regret who I've become,
To all your criticism, I'm numb.
You don't know a thing about me,
Don't tell me who I should be.
Who are you to decide my fate?
I won't listen to you ignorant hate.
This is my life, my choice,
I have a mind and a voice.
I can decide what I want to forget,
There's nothing I would want to reset.
I don't regret what I've done,
All that's happened, I'll carry on.
From this day until my last,
I won't be ashamed of my past.
When my time comes, as I wait for my death,
I will look back and have no regrets.
