You Can't Kill The Me In You

You Can't Kill The Me In You

A Poem by Alexa L. Draven

You think you are nothing like me,
Soon you'll realize this is who you're meant to be.
I run through your veins like blood,
No can change that, not even God.
I'll spread through your body like a disease,
Your malicious soul will be fully released.
In the end, everyone has a dark side,
And in that part is where I reside.
Deep down, everyone's a monster like me,
They are just too terrified to see.
Don't run away from who you are,
Self-denial won't get you far.
No matter how hard you try,
My being will never truly die.
I'll always remain in your soul,
Your life is mine to control.
I am the darkness that lives within,
Your good morals will wear thin.
Try as you may, try as you might,
Darkness will always dim the light.
You can't erase who you are in your heart,
You have been a criminal from the start.
No matter who you are or what you do,
You can't kill the me in you.
