~Anniversary~

What is held in just one year? Seconds, hours, weeks, days?...

Opportune change so blissful, yet filled with challenge,

To know not what lies ahead, becoming my ways...

 

Fear once holding me back, grasping fiercly and tight...

Cowardly hiding in a world of uncomfortable sadness,

Reasoning with myself, that it was only right...

 

Humility, now a good friend to me, allowing my mind...

Accepting that her kitten's purr was not of such,

Only the beginning, the tigress in her, my blessed find...

 

As I sip from this crystal with it's pewter base...

Sweet champaign toasting our two year plan,

For the first time in life, I have found my place...

 

Today marks that year, my new chapter to start...

No longer the thorn of the lonely rose in the glass vase,

Commence my beauty in it's petals, I have found in his heart...
