A unique format made this fun to read.....the stanzas in red, to me, are like a narrator speaking his piece, and then his voice fades away in time for the vignettes of dialogue.
I can easily see this acted out on a stage with spot lighting alternating between Jane & John Doe and the narrator, who is off to the side.
A wonderfully insightful write about the cycles of love and human relationships.
A very unusual, and interesting format. I liked it. I like the concept you are making. It is always unfair to put a new love beside a long time love. They are separate animals. No-one can maintain the intensity of those first days and months. True love is slower, and more deeply rooted. I guess it's a trade off. You have to be careful you don't get too comfortable. You can maintain parts of the fire of the begining, but it's nice to not have to be razor sharp everyday. I believe in true love. Nice write. Rain..
Lovely format, thought the poem was exceptionally written, beautiful, the only pointer I'd make was that it was a bit lengthy. But on the whole? Superb. Thank you for the read.
Why do we tell someone "I love you, everything you are" then in the next breath say "Break yourself apart and rebuild into something 'better'?"
Would "True" love do that?
Then again we all want to see those we love most soar to the best of their ability. It's good to encourage that, but gently. Tough love is just meanness with a bow on it. Isn't it?
I think true love speaks gently. True love has the quiet patience to wait and pick us up when we stumble.
True love is not an ultimatum.
And when it is real it will wait forever, even on the other side of a burned bridge.
t's verry close to reality, verry close to the demise of my marrige.. Save for the fact i di not use a glass of wine to drown in lol..eh i sorat went into a full mentle break down..ouch..but none the less it is a well described way of how relationships fail....note.. you can reverse the gender roles in this as well.
What an extraordinary shape this work has .. clever, intriguing, mesmerising... I was drawn into it as I read and felt the words, then, saw the pattern of love through time
A unique form of poetry writing that makes me want to come back to see, read and feel it again.
I liked how your passion for this delicate subject jumped out from each word. It really reached out to me, as I've been thinking about this same subject. *Two thumbs up*
