A unique format made this fun to read.....the stanzas in red, to me, are like a narrator speaking his piece, and then his voice fades away in time for the vignettes of dialogue.
I can easily see this acted out on a stage with spot lighting alternating between Jane & John Doe and the narrator, who is off to the side.
A wonderfully insightful write about the cycles of love and human relationships.
The format of this piece is dynamic. The two voices speaking to each other remind me of how love has been in my life. This poem had me thinking, yes, does true love die. Can you be in love (and that is, true love) and later the love fades. I would love to know the answers and this poem intrigued my mind. A universal poem with so much meaning!
I agree with everyone else. It's unique and the narration is done perfectly. The progression of love and the choices we make is something we all must deal with and work through or see it fall apart.
I've never seen a poem written like this. I really enjoyed it. You are very talented. This could be the story of everyone's life. Nothing stays fresh and new forever. Your poem reaches out to a wide audience.
Unique, as Tania says, is definately the word for this beaufifully written poem! One can internalize it easily. Such insight you have and I just wish I could be a articulate and creative as this. Wonderful.
deep. all i can say really is that most poems that try to describe the struggles, or pleasures, of love and life, usually use a lot of false, and far off imaging, but this, well, it hits the spot dead on. it tells the truth, love today is physical in almost every aspect, and few people realise that the mind is what matters. i give props to this, and i look forward to reading more like it in the future!
All that I can say is "Wow." This is honestly one of the best poems that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It speaks both truly and openly. I love the format (it is quite the breath of fresh air). You asked if this is true to reality. Yes, my friend, I believe that you hit the proverbial nail on the head. Very rarely do I come across a poem that speaks to me in the way that this one does. Exquisite work.
