New Breed/New God/Same FoolsA Poem by LegionA song I wrote years ago about how religion changes constantly throughout the ages.
New Breed/New God/Same Fools I was alone. They called my name. They made me god. I played their game. I laughed at them For they were fools. They worshipped me, Followed my rules. They built my throne And fed the flames. Those times were hard. They were insane. They prayed to me, Sacrificed their sons. I drank their blood In Kingdom Come. Chorus: New breed. New god. Same old rules. New breed. New god. Same old fools. Wind of change Quenched my fire. They destroyed my ways: Called me liar. A new god came Making new rules. I laughed at them. They're still fools. I was alone And no one came. In my outcast way, I felt no shame. I spied on them While they played their games. Sacrificing their sons, It's still the same. Chorus: New breed. New god. Same old rules. New breed. New god. They're still fools! Legion (circa 1990) © 2008 LegionReviews
