A song I wrote years ago about how religion changes constantly throughout the ages.

I was alone.

They called my name.

They made me god.

I played their game.

I laughed at them

For they were fools.

They worshipped me,

Followed my rules.

 

They built my throne

And fed the flames.

Those times were hard.

They were insane.

They prayed to me,

Sacrificed their sons.

I drank their blood

A new God? What was wrong with the old God? I thought that he was supposed to reign supreme for all of eternity!

What or who is the new God? If I had to guess, it would be the US dollar!
