Crossing Dangerous WatersA Poem by LegionA song I wrote years ago trying to comprehend what it would be like to talk to Christ in the here and now.
Crossing Dangerous Waters You're a dream. Though it seems we're just waking up. You're an image On a cross: come down and be one of us. You're an idol Whose ideas have come before their time. You're a vision, But the light in our eyes makes us blind. Chorus: I can see your lightning But I hear no thunder (Your silence is so deafening). Pray for mercy when Crossing dangerous waters. The weight of the world Lies on your shoulders (Your burden is so frightening). Pray for mercy when Crossing dangerous waters. You're the word, But afraid to speak we bite our tongues. You're the fire, But when we breathe it, it burns our lungs. You're the voice, But when you preach you sting our ears. You're the path On which we tread in doubt and in fear. Chorus: Repeat Legion (circa 1990) © 2008 LegionFeatured Review
