A Poem by Leigh

When I look back at my memories
It is a notice board of postcards
Of the places I have been
Intermingled with images
Of the faces I have seen

Pretty colourful days
Untameable wayward ways
Now all lost in a haze

There is a decade of nights out
A month of peaceful thought
A year of musical sound
All nailed to my wall
This is what I have found

Wheels are in motion
Swimming in a cool ocean
Crying tears of quiet emotion

When I look into my mind
I only think of the past
When it pleases me
Because my soul is there
And it agrees with me

Hot summer nights
Blurry city lights
New found delights

Every time I read your work Leigh I discover new found delights...this was indeed a delight to read... postcards are also a beautiful way of holding onto wonderful memories too..

Nice analogy with good flow and rhyme

I like it, Leigh. It has a sort of scrimshaw feel to it. There is a filigree of pattern that outlines the central theme of memories. These ivory thoughts have taken on a patina that only comes with age and experience so in that the picture words are enhanced. Nicely done.
