Rosemery screeched in pain. God, of all the times her wings had to get caught on something it was now?! A searing pain shot through her and she let out another anguished cry. She had to run! She had to hide!

The footsteps behind her quickened. With a violent tug and one more scream, her wings were free from the gutter they had snagged on. She had just arrived to London, she couldn’t leave now! She raced across the rooftops and her wing twinged with pain after each leap.

Can’t stop now.

Adrenaline rushed through her veins as she took a bit too large of a leap from one roof to another

Her wing seared with pain and she plummeted to the ground

The last thing Rosemery saw was a cloaked figure rushing towards her and the stars hanging over the skies.

Rosemery awoke with a yelp.

She had been having that nightmare for days now, she knew she was safe now, after all, she had been chased years ago- but her body loved to pull that fake fall on her every time. She flexed her wings just to make sure they were in working order before tugging on a corset.

That should keep them hidden for today.

She was far to lazy to pull on an actual wing-binder and besides, she was supposed to meet with Jazz and Mei today.

She had completely forgotten about their meetup. She quickly buttoned up a shirt and threw on a red waistcoat, practically racing through her small house.

D****t, d****t, d****t!!

She raced through the streets as best as she could without trampling one of the old ladies that were getting fresh bread from the bakery down the road.

It was probably likely that Jazz and Mei hadn’t eaten that day. Especially since they were so excited the night before. Rosemery sighed. Well, at least she could spin it into an excuse as to why she was late. The line at the bakery was out the door! She could already tell how easily it would slide off her tongue. One thing she had learned from being a valkyrie was that if you can lie then you're practically set.
