Few words apart

Few words apart

A Poem by Lena

Few words apart,
Few thoughts away,
Somewhere between the smile,
Somewhere between the gaze,
The sight braiding for a while
Mistaken for holding your hand,
Feeling your presence around
Thinking you’ll hug me again,
Looking into that window
I know I still see that day-
The one when you held me so tightly
The one when I laughed till we left.
I try not to stare to make it okay
Thinking I’ll forget how you looked,
Your face, your eyes, your neck, your hair
Everything’s calling me through.
Do you still remember
Will you ever care
Please just let me hold your face
One last time before I’ll break.
I try to convince myslef I hate you more than I should,
But in the end all I know is that I’ll never love anyone more than you.
