I Am Just A Girl

I Am Just A Girl

A Poem by Lesley Irma

I am a sailor’s daughter
the wife of a charmer
a mother of two

friend to a whole crew

of the best folks around
or at least that I have found

I am a hard-working woman
who’d die for her children

I am stronger than I look
but I sure can’t cook

I’m not afraid of spiders
and a fan of Harley Riders

I generally say what’s on my mind
I will seldom ever lie

My vocabulary is colorful
my disposition mostly playful

I’ve had a few rough times
I continue to pay for my crimes

But mostly I am just girl
trying to make it in this world.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses. I'm not a good cook nor always the best daughter to my parents. But no matter what I think or what anyone says, I'm still me. We can't change who we are, so we must learn to accept it as it is.
