Blessed Are The Prepositions
A Poem by
Leslie Philibert
I am in love with language.
Blessed are the prepositions ; for they shall inherit the word.
Each syllabic chain, every comma a word`s slight glance.
They are the followers of movement, bricks in a house of paragraphs.
An army of language, sacred with time and place and full of steps.
Water down a river.
Light under the clouds.
Rain through the evening.
Sleet across the moor.

I love how you have been able to play with words, very eye catchy...

This is entertaining, Leslie. Unique and...ugh...you astound me. My common grammatical errors are prepositions. Thank you for this.

That is the kind of wit poetry only you can write :)
The first stanza gives the concept, the references to material stuff (chain, bricks, army ...) helps conveying the idea.
The second stanza with all the references to nature shows your most romantic side ! Romantics used to link their poetry to nature so that their verses could be as imortal as their topic, i believe you did the same. Romanticism was born and prospered in Germany and now i don't wonder why !
Great job !

Writing is such fun, it sometimes seems like magic to me for all the different and unique things people come up with using words. I love your poem here!!!

I`m not important. I just want to write a couple
of good poems. Just read what I write. That`s
enough.
