The White Devil

The White Devil

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

inspired by the play

"
my soul
like to a ship in a black storm
is driven, I know not whither

acted to the souls of donkeys
in a winter night of smoke
years asleep
Viola Tree and Cedric Hardwicke
still undamaged the glass of revenge

What makes this good is it makes me want to know more about the inspiration behind it, a sure fire sign of a well written verse.

This poem tugs at the heart and twists the mind - to probe and to relish, all at once. Surely, written with a superb ink.. Cheers

Love the imagery in this, it gives the poem a haunting feel for me.
I enjoyed this even though, I admit, I'm not familiar with the play.
