It's All in the Tone

It's All in the Tone

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This is how I feel when I get snapped at. Being a sensitive person has it's good points and it's difficult ones.

"
Biting words can leave a mark
When you snap off a few torpedoes in my direction
They have teeth, those words
Explicit in their meaning
Gnawing at my feelings
Sinking their razor sharps into my humanity
Leaves a bruise
Tiny marks long after they've been flung
It's a reminder that I carry around
To be careful in my approach of you
There should be barbed wire surrounding you
To remind me of the peril of your voice

Nice free-versing, Leslie 👌

Free Verse is one of my favorite poetic forms, and you've done an exemplary job on this one with spot-on line-breaks, vivid metaphor, slaps of real emotion, great word choices, and syntactic flow highlight your skills.
We poetic bent beings are a sensitive type, alright … we must be to enfold so many aspects of life, feelings, understanding, compassion, all the fantasies that possess us … name it, and you'll find it living and breathing in the core of a poetess' or poet's heart and soul.
Yes, Leslie, I can clearly perceive how kindness with you will go sooo much further than apathetic coldness ever will.

Very nice work, Dear Leslie … "It's all in the Tone", indeed!
A warm thank you hug for sharing You! ⁓ Richard 🍃

PS; well-meant critique:
L2; for an even flow with the rest, consider a line-break at "off", and in the matter of syntax, try;
L10; "To be careful in my approach with you "
(and)
L12; "To remind me of the peril in your voice"
