So Damn Wrong

So Damn Wrong

A Poem by LeslieNoel

So Damn Wrong

Anger bakes my insides,

temporal heat rising "

white-hot and searing.

It turns my raw, insecure feelings

into well-done, fuming ones.

Rage, that I can’t keep caged,

tumbles out of every pore in my body.

I tremble as time seems to morph

into a slow blur of colors,

a cacophony of sounds

erupting inside my head,

bringing me back to a moment of dread "

a single instant when I realize

I can no longer hack this stream of negative

that seeps its way " no,

infiltrates every fiber of my equilibrium.

And that’s when I know my grasp,

the thin line of control,

is slipping beyond my ability to hang on.

Suddenly, the situation feels

so damn wrong.
