Where Did They Go?

Where Did They Go?

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Where Did They Go?

I’ve had these friends once in my life;

we grew together like the roots of a tree.

They are no longer present,

but they live in my memory.

There was no water to nourish the growth;

I can’t even remember the last time we spoke.

It fizzled and flickered,

its death sent a shiver

down my spine.

This wound will heal in time,

so they say "

although honestly,

I miss you every day.

It captures that quiet, aching grief of losing friendships not through fights, but through fade. The kind of slow disappearance that hurts more because it was never truly explained. You’ve distilled that universal ache into something tender and honest.
