Falls Away

Falls Away

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Falls Away

There was a tether

between you and I.

All I had to do was tug,

and there you were.

Now when I pull,

up comes the plug,

draining all of the good stuff out,

leaving behind a lump of clout

clogging up the pipes.

I’d rather have the fights

than the silence left behind.

Oh, empty chasm,

with only my own echo for company "

I pull on the rope, and it falls away completely.
