Nature Collides With Melody

Nature Collides With Melody

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Nature Collides with Melody

When nature collides with melody,

it’s a simplistic gift for me.

A single tone of a meadowlark

sends a riveting, undying spark

of creative ventures,

whispering through the trees-

listen to the buzzing of the bees,

the gurgling water of a creek bed.

It leaves something gloriously unsaid-

those unspoken words that nature murmurs,

weathered, old, and gray.

Unfortunately, piano will stay this way-

in his tomb in the trees,

amongst the gnarled-up branches such as these.

The keys are missing,

and some are cracked.

Nature has taken the time to attack,

to bring back the wood

to where he once stood-

as a Fellow Oak,

whenever the wind in the branches sordidly spoke.

Instead of a song from long ago,

now, on his cracked edges again sits the crow.
