Thinking Too Much

Thinking Too Much

To try to understand

is a burden for my heart to carry,

a puzzle for my mind.

It’s frustrating

when I cannot find

the truth I seek.

But thinking too much

only makes my mind freak.

Anxiety comes in wave-

tumultuous and far-reaching-

crashing over my would-be breaths,

pulling me under

with ominous shades of the future.

Doomed.

Death without accomplishment.
