Journey’s Embrace

I need to have patience-

but I’m not sure how.

I’ve already waited

from then until now.

Another minute,

an hour, a day-

each one passes

in an agonizing way.

With every tick

of time slipping by,

I’ll try to remember

the reason why

I’m waiting in the first place.

Reaching the end

shouldn’t be a race.

I need to set my pace,

to breathe, to grow,

to flourish in

this journey’s embrace.
