Just Like That

Just like that,

I laid it down to rest.

For my brain has worked

on overdrive for far too long,

singing the song

of determination-

pushing on without stop,

until I have come upon a place

where I can no longer press forward.

A blockade in my mind,

vast and unyielding,

stonewall concealing

the very breath of my fortitude.
