Not a Clueless Child

Not a Clueless Child

A Poem by LeslieNoel

A vulnerable feeling pricks at my insides.

A spray of frustration leaps out of my throat.

Anger… an unexpected visitor.

Hello. Stay for a while.

Sit beside me as I figure out your origin.

What is that you whisper?

I take it in as my ears try to register

the measure of this disbelief

that has been unsheathed

by a careless comment

with a scolding tone.

At this point, I’d rather be alone,

as you remind me of things that were needless to say.

I am not a clueless child

who needs to be spoken to this way.

This is a masterpiece of dripping passion. Love the word play, "a spray of frustration" makes me envision as wet, intrusive and unpleasant. Love it
