Not a Clueless ChildA Poem by LeslieNoelA vulnerable feeling pricks at my insides. A spray of frustration leaps out of my throat. Anger… an unexpected visitor. Hello. Stay for a while. Sit beside me as I figure out your origin. What is that you whisper? I take it in as my ears try to register the measure of this disbelief that has been unsheathed by a careless comment with a scolding tone. At this point, I’d rather be alone, as you remind me of things that were needless to say. I am not a clueless child who needs to be spoken to this way. © 2025 LeslieNoel |
