The Garden in My Heart

The Garden in My Heart

A Poem by LeslieNoel

The Garden in My Heart

All of the emotions have come rushing to the surface.

They pirouette in my head,

dance across the pupils of my eyes.

The surprise cannot be disguised

as a smile spreads across my face,

kissing my cheeks

and leaving dimples in its wake.

My heart spins

and does the Charleston-then the waltz.

This hope is not false,

but is as fresh as the red-kissed berry

as it grows in the garden of spring.
