Different

Different

I know that I am different.

It’s subtle,

almost minute,

slightly undetectable-

but it is there.

A kernel

that I can just touch

with the edges of my sanity.

And I find its presence distressing,

ever compressing on my mind,

infiltrating the reality

that I’ve known for so long.

I must explore,

perhaps even come to adore,

this thing lodged

in my personality.
