Imprisoned

Imprisoned

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Imprisoned

I cry out and reach for a hand-

a purchase,

to have and hold,

protect and cherish me.

But instead, I find darkness.

I wrap my arms around it

and pull it close.

It wraps itself around me,

like a blade enclosed in a sheath,

a pea in a shell-

imprisoned.
