Lizard BrainA Poem by LeslieNoelLizard Brain She sat at the desk, hands busy with silent tasks. Her body still, but the inner workings of her mind jumped and jittered about like pure electricity buzzing through wires. She was calm, and yet it was a mask she wore to convince herself that she was unafraid. Was she terrified of the strangers who continually walked through the glass doors? No, not she, she told herself. PSSST, you’re lying, her mind whispered menacingly. Oh, go away, the girl told her brain as she greeted the next person who approached her desk. © 2025 LeslieNoel |
