The Whisper of NowA Poem by LeslieNoelThe Whisper of Now The future used to scream into my ear with her boisterous, raspy voice. Raucous calls bounced off my inner ear and circled around my eardrum, reverberating for days, until Now slammed home its message. His lesson repeated for years. Now’s voice was quieter than Future’s, partly because I wasn’t ready to hear his whispers. Live for now, not for then. This moment can never hold up when alone, but many of them together can get us into the future. © 2025 LeslieNoel |
