Fence

Fence

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Fence

I’m living life straddling a fence.

One side, plush and green.

The other, dusty and barren.

Split in half,

I lean toward the most alluring side,

but my trousers get caught on the fence.

Tough strings become tangled in the wood splinters-

stuck

until the next gust of wind releases me

back onto the barren side of the fence.
