Awkward

Awkward

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Awkward

I feel so awkward

In the seat I sit.

What do I say?

How do I fit?

I listen to the peaks

And the lulls of the voices.

What exactly are my choices?

What can I say?

What do I do

To have a conversation with you?

When there is nothing we share,

It is not that I don’t care.

The wear and tear of social rules

Makes me feel like a fool,

Because I lack the right tools

To talk with you.

I'm not normally a fan of rhyme as such. but you pull it off with its simplicity and the subject matter .
I think there's to much complexity in poetry at times but when I get to read something like this were you express your own self I find it so refreshing .
