On His KneesA Poem by Alexa TarvidWhen the love of his life is faced with a deathly sickness, he finds himself humbled to the ground and his voice calling to the skies.
His knees are bloodied
Are bruised, "God heal her, God please heal her," If ever a man was broken, He knelt before God now, His knees bloodied and bruised, "God you promised, You promised," If a man ever wept, No one more than he, The pressure of a Saviors hand Rested on his shoulder, "You gave me love, My half-My perfection, Let her stay, God, Let her stay," He prayed on his knees, Bloodied and bruised, God was his life But she was his love-his one true partner, "God heal her, You promised, Let her stay, God, I'm trusting in you," If ever a man was broken, He knelt before God now, If a man ever wept, No one more than he, But the pressure of Saviors hand Rested on his shoulder, And the hand of a listening God, Rested on his future wife. © 2010 Alexa TarvidAuthor's Note
