Contrast

Another poem from my creative writing class. Inspiration came from looking at the night sky one night and thinking about how our sin is so dark; yet, God's love and glory still shines through.

Our sin is ever before us.

It is as a stain on a white carpet.

As I see the moon in the sky

Contrast with the surrounding darkness,

I’m reminded that the sky reflects us:

Our sin, our impurity, our darkness.

I’m reminded that the moon is Christ:

His glory, His majesty, His righteousness.

This is one way that God reveals Himself to me.

Now, when I see the night sky, I smile joyfully.
