The way of the poet

The way of the poet

A Poem by Pebbles

Without your battle scar's would you have been

Without the pain you’re holding in

Enter the poet

Young man old and story told

A million dreams crashed upon the shores

A hundred maidens laid to rest

A child in arms you’ve done your best

Now to walk the life of a poet

Been beaten and battered by life’s storms

The unicorn has lost his horns

But wait

The magic has not quite disappeared

Strength comes in the form of poets cheer

A humble hand reaches out in the rain

To vanquish your thirst for pain

A nightmare and a dragon slain

An army has come your way

Of feelings strong, of tears and joy

Young man old and yet still the boy
