New StartA Story by Heather HunzikerMy friend called me out of the blue and asked me to pick her up at her boyfriends house. She finally decided that she couldn't live the way she had and needed me to move her out of his apt and into my house. I wrote this story when we got back to my houseHer arms carried the last of her shift down the stairs. The apartment door shutting behind her. Tears escaped from her eyes again and she attempted to cover it up by wiping her face with the blanket she carried. Every step, although she didn't feel it, was making her stronger woman. The thought of the man she was leaving killined her inside. But the thought of a fresh start, a new begining... a chance to complete the call on her life and accomplish the dreams that have so long dwelt in her heart. Still the tears burned and the heartache swallowed her. She made her way to the car and stood in front of her friend who had come to help her get out. Her friend smiled and opened the car door. The light from the car door illuminated all her belongings that had been thrown and crammed into the car. The sight through her for a loop...how did it come to this? The reality that that little car light shown hit her in the face and she couldn't contain it. The tears broke through her "barrier" and fell down her hace like a waterfall. She shook her head. She had to fight herself. Yes it may hurt and yes its hard but she knew it was what was right. This new start would prove not only to her but to everyone around her that she could and would make it..... © 2009 Heather HunzikerReviews
