Is it real?

Is it real?

A Poem by Meradee

They say,

Love never fails.

If it never fails,

Then why do those we love,

Die?

If it never fails,

Then why do those we love,

Hurt us?

If it never fails,

Then why do tears fall from cheeks,

to pillows?

If it never fails,

Then why have I never felt,

Love?

well expressed.....love doesnt hurt, nor die, nor fail.........its people who hurt, die and fail......but coz we dont love "love", we instead love "people", we get hurt... lovely poem though... emotions are well expressed.. :)

contradiction, intensity, it happens, we have seen it, felt it, lived it, but all of it clashes with what we prefer against what does happen along the way. death, pain, hurt, all the things that add up and cast a shadow that outstretches anything that was good or is good. there's good in it but its so rare like a unicorn.

You present questions that we all ask ourselves. The poem's structure is simple and effective, with repetition that drives home your sentiment. Thanks for sharing this!

Some difficult questions you have put here. I've been thinking recently that love is a state of peace with oneself, or a state of oneness - sometimes et it singing hymns :-)
Thank you!

This is full of longing and melancholy. Speaks nicely to itself and of the yearning to find love and captures a sentiment many can share. Nicely done. XXC
