Lighthouse

We're all like ships at sea.

We go through calm weather, fabulous weather, and sometimes,

We go through horrible weather.

During those storms we sometimes don't know what to do.

We toss and turn, our sails hoisted, the mast shaking.

In our desperation we look out at the sea,

hoping that by some miracle we'll be safe.

Then we see a light in the distance.

A guide to help us to safety.

That light house in the distance saves us when we need it.

And when the storm has abated we have that wonderful lighthouse to thank

when we see that rainbow on the horizon.

Like this piece, I often have compared my life to a piece of flotsam in the ocean, tossed hither and thither with no real direction. Wish I could find my lighthouse!

A wonderful analogy... to many times people jump overboard and drown when things get rough... but as you most brilliantly point out there is always light coming from some direction we just have to look in every direction possible.

that was wonderful. it's true that there'll always be a light at the end of the tunnel. or in this, at the shore. no matter how hard times get for us, we have to have faith in the lighthouse. it's a very optimistic and motivating piece. I really enjoyed reading it. thanks for sharing. :)
