You are a Window

You are a Window

A Poem by Lindsay Elizabeth

You are a window,

a white windowpane

without any curtains.

You are open and honest:

the breeze flows freely and

You do not fear the scrutiny of morning dawn

or midday sun.

You are a window

and I see you

and I see into you.

I see your red color pumping through veins

I feel your warm laughter before it explodes into existence

I hear your thoughts before they are formed and I understand

because

I see you.

You let me see into you.

You are a window

a white windowpane

and I love to gaze upon you

because through your glass

I see

not just you but my own reflection

and the entirety of the world before us.

This is an excellent analogy you make and the wording is great. Seeing someone clearly and honestly, as through a window, and then seeing yourself in the reflection demonstrates some very clever thinking.
