Ten Times Better

Ten Times Better

A Poem by Christine

I had to make a choice.

And it had to be one or the other.

There were no compromises.

No do-overs.

Someone was going to get hurt.

So I made my choice.

And as the tears stream down my face,

I have to question whether its the right one.

But the way you let me go,

The way you just vanished from my life...

I knew we were growing apart,

I knew it wasn't the same anymore.

But you didn't even fight for me.

So, yes, I am heartbroken.

But I will move on.

Sure, I question my choice.

And I'm scared to death that you are gone for good.

Because if I made the wrong choice,

I'll feel ten times worse than before.

But if I made the right choice,

Which I'm not proud of myself for doing,

Then it gets ten times better.

Its a gamble.

And you didn't bet on us.

But neither did I.

So you're gone.

And I am going to miss you.

I know my writing sure won't be as good as all the stuff on here, but I'm tired of keeping all this bottled up. This will be my release. Now I will try to keep everything I write about completely anon.. more..
