Better

I recenty lost my grandfather, to whom i was very close.

"He's in a better place now." They say.

       Better for him, but not for me.

"At least he wasn't in any pain." They say.

      But every moment without him is agony.

"You'll see him soon." They say.

       Not soon enough.

 

Author's Note

Some say it is better to be close to a family member than distant. But when they pass, its is far easier when you did't know them. I am glad i knew my grandfather though, he was a very great man. And he will not be forgoten.
