A Hopeful Colorblind

A Hopeful Colorblind

A Poem by Karina Longo
"

Old lyrical poem inspired by a Manic Street Preachers song (even though the context is completely different).

"

The future smiles to me

But I can’t see

It’s all so gray and torn

When will I realize that I should pray for some belief?

Walking gently through the plastic leaves,

It’s all the same,

I turn around and now

All their faces are magically invisible

Kicking softly the autumn breeze

Freezing hands and tiring feet

I know I’ve dropped any sort of hope

Never ever will find a shelter - and

When I look above and the skies are red

The ground is black

And there’s no one else around here anymore

The ocean is dead, my heart is sad

A colorblind in life and love

The future calls me

But I can’t sight

I’ve never been too bright

But if you give me your hand

Maybe I could find a reason  - ‘cos

When I look above the skies are red

The ground is black

And there’s no one else around here anymore

The ocean is dead, my heart is sad

A colorblind in life and love
