The Sun Is Someway WoundedA Poem by Karina Longo
All itchy where my hands
Your hands Their hands can't reach - Pain where the eyes cannot see Contradictory paranoid feeling Judged so strictly. Cosmic, utopic, beautifully broken - The Sun is someway wounded, I know for a fact - It may shine and irradiate happiness But what if - What if it burns into some kind of orange screaming pain - Like my brain? Misjudged as I am And you are And they are Scars at heart and soul - Bruises inside, failed organism Never to be noticed while your cheekbones Are still rosy, sunset-like They just want to get tanned, Selfish bronze Smiling summer For they can't see Selfish eyes cannot reach and stone hearts cannot feel - Inner pain, always refuted But remember, warmth always sweats And weeps. Fragile symbols of eternity That time cannot heal - But I know for a fact The Sun is someway wounded still. © 2011 Karina LongoFeatured Review
