Turn it off

The same song can get tried after listening to it again and again,

There are millions of songs but people don’t want to listen to the lyrics,

Negativity overpowers people’s emotions,

A song plays too fast for the whole message to be heard,

Artists lose their fans,

We each have a choice to make in creating our musical playlist.

Hi Lauren - I’m not sure if the word in the first line should be “tried” or “tired”. I read it a couple of times and my brain thinks it should be “tired” but the word “tried” works too, it just conveyed a different meeting to me. Anyway, I really liked this poem. I love music, but sometimes I just need silence, I need to turn it off. The last line so well stated reminding us to live to our own playlist. Thank you for sharing your writing.
